Founder & creative project lead

Building a business while building the products.

I am developing Caim Creations from the ground up: shaping products, directing AI-assisted writing and visuals, reviewing manuscripts, preparing publishing materials, and organizing the website and inquiry process.

The Little Hearts Collection explores feelings and family experiences through children's stories. My work includes defining the audience, setting the tone, developing characters, and refining content for clarity and consistency.

AI's contribution: Supporting drafts, illustrations, brainstorming, and file preparation through an iterative process.
My contribution: Creative direction, requirements, feedback, editorial decisions, and final review.

Status: The first Little Hearts title has been published through Lulu; a KDP paperback edition is being prepared. Additional titles and business workflows are in development.

Template Library

Template Library demonstration preview: searchable template list and document reading pane

I independently initiated and developed a template library to organize reusable resources and support more consistent document preparation.

  • Recognizing repeated documentation needs.
  • Organizing material for retrieval and reuse.
  • Thinking through how users find a useful starting point.

Manual App

Manual App demonstration preview: section navigation and document control guidance

I independently initiated and developed a manual app and a template-manual feedback workflow. The feedback workflow has been developed and tested and is preparing for launch, with a continuous comment record and scheduled 6 a.m. email notifications to two reviewers.

  • Turning a recurring work need into a tool concept.
  • Working through requirements and revisions.
  • Applying technology to document-centered operations.

Document Review & Version Control

I. Purpose

Keep working documents accurate, identifiable, and ready for authorized use.

II. Scope

Applies to shared procedures, templates, and client-facing documents prepared by the fictional Northstar Studio team.

III. Policy

Each controlled document has an assigned owner, a version number, a review status, and a single approved location. Drafts must not be presented as approved instructions.

IV. Procedures

  1. Assign ownership. Record the document owner, intended audience, reviewer, and target date before drafting.
  2. Name and label. Use a descriptive title, version number, and status: Draft, In Review, or Approved.
  3. Review. Check factual accuracy, completeness, readable instructions, working links, and consistency with related documents. Route unresolved subject-matter questions to the responsible specialist.
  4. Approve and release. Record the approver and approval date. Publish the approved copy in the designated shared location and notify affected users.
  5. Maintain. Archive superseded copies, record material changes, and review after process changes or at the assigned review date.

V. References

Fictional internal document register and approval log. No external legal or certification compliance is asserted.

03 / Applied AI

From direction
to a reviewed result.

I use ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI to support writing, research, visual development, and operational problem-solving. These examples show the requirements I set, the revisions I direct, and the judgment I bring to the result.

01 / Actual independent project

Developing the Little Hearts books

AI-assisted writing and illustration guided by a defined audience, story purpose, and editorial direction.

The assignment

Develop children's stories that encourage conversations about feelings and family experiences, then prepare the writing and visuals for publication.

How I used AI

Worked through story ideas, manuscript drafts, illustration direction, revisions, and publishing-file preparation. I supplied the themes, evaluated the results, and directed changes.

A specific editorial decision

For Willow's stories, I contributed details about solitary play, stuffed animals, a dog, and food and texture preferences. When a later story risked repeating a birthday-party scene, I redirected development toward a new setting and relationship-building.

What this demonstrates

Requirement-setting, editorial judgment, iterative feedback, continuity review, and attention to the intended audience.

Visible work: Grown-Ups Have Feelings, Too cover and publishing case study. Willow's stories remain in development.View book project ↗
02 / Reconstructed portfolio example

Turning a vague instruction into usable guidance

A fictional example of directing an AI-assisted revision and reviewing the operational details.

Starting material

“Everybody should try to get their updates in regularly so management knows what's happening.”

Example direction to AI

Rewrite this for a small operations team. Identify the responsible role, reporting location, deadline, required information, and escalation trigger. Flag details that need confirmation instead of inventing them.

Reviewed sample result

Project owners update the shared tracker by 2 p.m. each Thursday. Include current status, the next milestone, and any decision needed. Flag a blocker to the operations lead when it threatens an agreed deadline.

My review responsibility

Confirm the role, timing, tool, and escalation authority with the team before approval. Assess whether the wording is actionable and consistent with the actual process.

Recreated direction and illustrative result—not a historical prompt transcript or employer document. The specific cadence and roles are fictional.View editorial example ↗

Making a workflow reviewable

Using AI assistance to help turn a workflow description into a visual demonstration that can be explored and checked.

Requirements I supplied

A daily tracker spanning multiple apps, including Craft; a continuous record of who commented and where in a template manual; and morning email notifications at 6 a.m.

What AI helped build here

A fictional activity dashboard, filterable views, time summaries, comment records, and an in-page notification preview for this portfolio.

Corrections and boundaries I set

I clarified that my original feedback workflow had already been tested and was preparing for launch. The portfolio distinguishes those facts from newly created demonstration features.

What needs review

Check that filters and totals behave as expected, comments keep their context, and the preview is clearly simulated. The demo has no live app connections and sends no email; its digest layout is illustrative.

Try it: Add a fictional activity or comment and inspect the result. These demos were built with AI assistance during portfolio development.Explore workflow demo ↗

Set clear requirements

Define the audience, source material, constraints, and expected output before asking a tool to help.

Refine with purpose

Identify what misses the mark and give specific feedback that moves the work toward its intended use.

Keep human accountability

Review accuracy and usability, confirm unresolved facts, and retain responsibility for the finished work.

How I approach responsible use

My operating principles are to minimize sensitive information, confirm that tools are appropriate for the task, check factual claims against authoritative sources when needed, and distinguish drafts from approved work. Fictional content is used in these portfolio demonstrations.

Where these skills transfer

Executive correspondence, meeting preparation, document development, research summaries, project updates, onboarding resources, and workflow planning. The appropriate level of AI assistance depends on the employer's policies and the information involved.
